Anders Håkansson

Stækka mynd

My name is Anders Håkansson, 67 year old and live in south of Sweden out on the country side in a little village, Strönhult. I and my wife Karin live on a farm where we keep sheeps and also have som forest area.

I have Master of Science in Forestry and have been working for our National Board of Forestry. Between 2000 and 2022 I was running my own company in silviculture. Now I´m retired.

I have been hunting since I was little child. First following my father and when I was 21 years old I got my first dog. A harrier, Schillerstövare in swedish. It was a bitch and she was mostly hunting hares.

I hunt all kind of games. Every autumn I go to the north of Sweden hunting Ptarmigans and Black grouse. I got my first German pointer 2008 but I have been hunting birds since 1982.  I used to hunt birds before that with my friends pointing dogs.

My first German pointer was winner of Swedish Championship on Gotland 2015.

I began to judge pointing dogs 2016. Judging for Svenska Vorstehklubben(SVK) and Specialklubben för kontinentala fågelhundar(SKF). Every year I judge more than 100 different dogs.

I also judge harriers in fox and hare hunting and have done that in 35 years. Our dogs, are 2 German pointers, 2 harrier (for foxhunting) and one labrador.
